Netspace Online Security
Protecting Your Netspace Account – Important message for Netspace Customers
Netspace takes the protection of your personal details very seriously. We will not send emails that contain links to log in to your account or that request your personal information.
Never provide personal or account related details in response to an email, even if it looks like it has come from Netspace. These measures have been introduced to reduce the potential risk of online fraud.
How do you identify a hoax email?
The hoax email will often claim to be from Netspace and request that you reply with confidential account details. Other examples include hoax emails that claim to be from your bank, or advising you that you are the recipient of a generous inheritance or prize. Customers are advised to never open these emails and to delete them from your system immediately.
Under no circumstances should you reply to these types of emails or provide any of the requested details.
If the email is accidentally opened and/or replied to, customers are advised to immediately run a full virus and spyware scan on their system. Additionally, you should change your Netspace account password by visiting MyNetspace, or contact the Netspace Technical Support Team on 131 456.
Remember: Netspace will never request confidential account or personal details via email.
If you would like more information about this, we suggest you read our account protection tips and visit the SCAMwatch website. SCAMwatch is an initiative of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and the Australasian Consumer Fraud Taskforce – scamwatch.gov.au
