What is Naked DSL?
Regular ADSL2+ based broadband requires you to have an active fixed line phone service. Whereas Naked DSL does not require you to have an active fixed line phone service. The ‘copper’ phone line is used exclusively for the broadband service. You don’t even need to have a traditional telephone handset on the premises.
What are the main benefits of Naked DSL?
If you do not need a regular fixed line phone service, Naked DSL is a great option giving you high speed ADSL2+ broadband without the hassle and additional expense of monthly fixed line phone bills. Naked DSL has extremely fast ADSL2+ download and upload speeds.
Will Naked DSL affect my phone service?
Yes. Your regular fixed line phone service will not work if you choose a Naked DSL service. Any service that relies on your fixed line phone will not work either. You will need to use a mobile phone or VoIP to make phone calls. If for any reason you need a regular fixed line phone service you should not get Naked DSL on the same line. Please note that the Netspace VoIP service is currently only configured to make outgoing VoIP calls and is not able to receive incoming calls.
Is Naked DSL the right choice for me?
Naked DSL is only the right choice if you do not need a traditional phone service for any purpose. This includes making or receiving phone calls or faxes, using a monitored alarm system or other dial-up type usage such as Foxtel movie ordering. When converting an existing service to Naked DSL you will lose your existing phone number and will need to use a mobile phone or VoIP with in-dial capability to make and receive calls. Please note that the Netspace VoIP service is currently only configured to make outgoing VoIP calls and is not able to receive incoming calls.

Naked DSL Plan Conditions
- ± All ‘Super’ plans are available as Flat Rate only – there are no excess usage fees on these plans. Uploads and downloads are counted towards the monthly quota on all Super plans.

- ADSL2+ plans provide the maximum achievable ADSL2+ speed on your service line which varies depending on many factors including your distance from the exchange, line quality and length, interference, network configuration, traffic and equipment, from 1.5Mbps to 20Mbps.
